If you exit the console, it doesn't actually close out that console session, it just exits the console app, but the console remains open. To close the console session, type in the command 'exit', before closing the app.

Subject: [Icon-tech] Console asks for password when never has before?
Hello all
I absolutely love the console concept of the icon and the possibilities for
it. Well for me so far, it's just playing text adventure games but I have
been learning some basic commands and they're coming to me because of the
few years I spent using dos when I got my first pc in 95 or so. Anyhow
here's my little problem. I received my unit back from getting repaired and
when trying to log in to the console, I usually type in root at the log on
screen and that's it. But this time it asked for a password. I assumed the
fixers of my unit were using it so I did a backup and a reflash. The
console worked then as usual yesterday but this morning the same thing
happened. I've noticed sometimes after closing the console and reopening
it, you end up where you last left off and sometimes you don't and have to
log in again. Does anyone know how this can be fixed?
Thanks for any help and regards
Jay Pellis
