[Icon-tech] Braille plus used to operate verbalmarine equipment?

Hi,
I am not a developer, however I was wondering how difficult it would
be to build applications for marine equipment. I am a diver and there many
dive computers that use Bluetooth connections to obtain their telemetry from
the tanks. Is this something that could be created for the BP since it has
Bluetooth? I am also a sailor and their flux gate cumpussas that have a
serial output on them. There is a marine standard in fact for the
information to be output to things such as a plotter. Could an application
be developed for the BP to verbally output this information? Thanks
Cheers
Scott

Hi, Personally I would include it in the main program rather then as a
downloadible package. The reason being that if it were included as part of
the system more users might wish to develope on the device as they would not
be discouraged if they don't have a computer at hand to develope with.
Having development tools on the device would also be nice so if a user
wanted to debug their programs they could do so with out needing to download
any other tools they would already have what they needed and they could also
show users who don't have the device how development is done and how easy it
is as a computer would not be needed for any of the tasks. It would also be
useful for those people who want to be programmers they could learn directly
on their devices. I am all for inclution in the development into the main
firmware of the device and sure others can say other greate things like
this. Is this development package anywhere we can try it out? Some of
those games don't work on the device I was able to get hangman and blackjack
which I think should be included in the firmware as well but not the other
ones.
